I was a little more than a mile away from the shooting, working with my brother on our parents house. I heard sirens, but didn’t think much of it since we’re close to downtown. Later my brother said he had heard helicopters, but again we didn’t think too much about it since we’re also close to a hospital. On my way home at 3:30, I pulled over while an ambulance rushed by me on the way to Mercy Hospital.
It wasn’t until I got home that my husband told me what was going on.
A gunman apparently entered a manufacturing company, Henry Pratt Mfg, and started shooting. One person is dead (the shooter, I think?) and there are multiple injuries, including 4 police officers. I don’t think there’s any word on the motive yet.
The national emergency isn’t on the southern border, Donald. It’s literally in our back yards all over America.
